I’m Evan Chu. This is a work in progress.

Blog Intentions

For both our sakes, I’d like to be clear as to what this blog is meant to be about. I hope it shall be an effective space for practicing writing, clarifying my own thoughts, producing content for others, and simply sharing myself. Furthermore, while working on “You In View” I ought to keep in mind the following values:

  • Personal: I’d like what’s on this site to express my interests, sensibilities, values, and ongoing development.
  • Open-minded: I’d like to keep an open mind both in my posts as well as while engaging visitors. If you have any feedback that you think would help me improve or live up to my own intentions better, I would not only be very grateful if you took the time to speak to me, I actively encourage you to share your perspective.
  • Comprehensible: From top to bottom, I wish for this site to be easy to navigate and easy for people to understand my thoughts.
  • Foolish: At the same time, even though I intend to create things that other people can find are worth their while, I also want to grow in comfort with messiness and imperfection and to simply put the words out there despite a lack of polish or refinement.
  • Adaptive: I hope that what I write as well as the structure of the site shall shift to meet new challenges, techniques, feedback, processes, and so on.
  • Considerate: I’d like to do my best to keep you, reader, in mind while writing. As per the title, You ought to be In View.

Book Reflections

I’m going to write some reflections on the books that I read in order to record and better retain my experience of learning and enjoying such literature.

One consistent feature which, for now, I intend on keeping throughout the changes from one reflection to another is the “Connection to Other Materials” section, as I believe it’s one of the best methods for me to remember the knowledge I’ve just internalized as well as the older information to which it’s connecting.
